Ethical Production

Though it is female-driven, only 2% of factory workers make a living wage. Able holds themselves accountable by using a third party called “Accountable” to calculate and ensure they are paying their partners a living wage, compensating their needs and ensuring consumers that they are supporting a brand that cares deeply for their workers.

Local Craftsmanship

ABLE partners with the local communities in Ethiopia, Mexico, Brazil, and India to manufacture clothing and shoes so as to support their local craft and to help create jobs for women. Meanwhile, all ABLE’s leather goods and jewelry are crafted in Nashville, TN.

Responsible Materials

All of Able’s products are made with responsibly-sourced natural fibers such as Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) Cotton.

VERTICALE VALUES

  • Responsible Materials

Yes, ABLE makes clothing and jewelry from sustainable materials but they do so much more than that. Globally, women hold the lowest paying and least secure jobs even though studies show that they recycle more of their income into their families than men. ABLE has made it their mission to economically empower women by providing well-paying stable jobs. ABLE began this journey in Ethiopia when they trained ex-sex workers to make scarves and thus breaking the cycle of poverty. Today, 95% of ABLE’s employees are women. Their core value is to create products that help all the women of our lives, including mother earth
